With the objective of raising $50,000 for charity, Rich Albero came to us for ideas. We suggested creating a website to showcase his 1,200 mile charity walk in support of The Wounded Warrior Project. The Yankees branding of the website has allowed Rich to reach a broad audience of NYY and WWP social media followers. Rich's site is integrated with a custom donation portal, social media buttons, blog, and an interactive map feature that displays Rich’s location in real-time during his charity walk.
Using analytics software, we have monitored the traffic to Rich's site. Between March 1 and April 1, Rich has gained nearly 3,000 unique visitors to his website with over 10,000 page views. This is what has contributed to raising over $18,000 in within only 30% of his walk completed.
Social media efforts is what has helped connected Rich to major Sports entertainment networks such as YES network, ABC News, CBS News, and Yankees.com. Upon completion of the walk, Rich will receive a standing ovation while standing on home plate at Yankees Stadium. Thanks for your efforts, Rich!
